Nag Ashwin Reflects on Yevade Subramanyam’s Return at Press Meet

The Telugu film Yevade Subramanyam is slated for a theatrical re-release on March 21, 2025, and a press meet in Hyderabad offered fresh insights into its comeback. Director Nag Ashwin, alongside actors Nani and Vijay Deverakonda, addressed the media, highlighting the film’s enduring appeal as it approaches its 10th anniversary.

Ashwin, who launched his directorial career with the 2015 release, emphasized the continued relevance of its themes. “The world hasn’t shifted much—same pursuits, same struggles. It might resonate even more today,” he stated, expressing eagerness to reach younger audiences like teenagers and Gen Z. He pointed to the film’s organic connection with viewers. “Fans often say it’s their favorite, that it transformed their outlook or supported them through tough times,” he noted, attributing its charm to the team’s early, unpolished energy. “We were all novices—myself, Nani, Vijay, the producers—fully committed, despite challenges like shooting in the Himalayas.”

The director underscored the cinematic experience as a key draw. “It shines on the big screen. Returning fans will feel it again, and newcomers will find something special,” he said, adding, “If just a few leave inspired, that’s success. Films like this happen naturally.” Yevade Subramanyam traces Nani’s character, Subramanyam, abandoning corporate life for a transformative journey, with Vijay Deverakonda and Malavika Nair in pivotal roles. Produced by Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, its Himalayan backdrop remains iconic.

The press meet sparked widespread buzz on social media, signaling strong anticipation. With the re-release nearing, Yevade Subramanyam is poised to captivate both longtime admirers and fresh viewers. Screening details are expected soon.
