Shruti Haasan’s latest film, “The Eye,” will premiere in India at the 5th Wench Film Festival. This British psychological thriller not only marks Shruti’s international debut as a leading lady but also promises to captivate audiences with its gripping storyline and supernatural elements.
Directed by Daphne Schmon, “The Eye” follows Diana, portrayed by Shruti Haasan, as she travels to a remote island to scatter the ashes of her late husband, Felix, played by Mark Rowley. As Diana seeks closure, she encounters the legend of the ‘Evil Eye’ ritual—an ancient practice that could bring Felix back but at a potentially dark and unsettling cost.
The Wench Film Festival, founded by Sapna Bhavnani, celebrates genres like horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. The festival, running from February 27 to March 2, 2025, will showcase an array of films that push the boundaries of imagination and storytelling. “The Eye,” set in the stunning locations of Athens and Corfu, blends psychological tension with supernatural intrigue.
Shruti Haasan expressed her enthusiasm for the film, highlighting its exceptional production quality and unique narrative. She shared, “Psychological thrillers have always fascinated me.
