Mohanlal’s highly anticipated Malayalam film, “L2: Empuraan,” has officially received a U/A certificate from the censor board, and fans can mark their calendars for its release on March 27. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, this sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “Lucifer” is set to be an engaging cinematic experience that builds on the original’s world and takes the storyline to new heights.
The censor board, however, requested a few modifications to ensure the film meets the guidelines. With a runtime of three hours, the film underwent eight cuts. Notably, a scene where women’s heads are banged against a wall was reduced to a brief flash. Additionally, a scene depicting sexual violence against a woman was trimmed by half. The board also insisted on the removal, replacement, or muting of a dialogue that referenced the colors of the national flag.
“L2: Empuraan” has been filmed across a variety of locations, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
