The plot thickens as two Mumbai-based film producers, Mansi Varun Bagla and Varun Pramod Kumar Bagla, allegedly swindled Aarushi out of Rs 4 crore by promising her a significant role in a Bollywood movie titled “Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan”.
Aarushi, who co-owns Himshree Films, was assured not only a starring role but also a 20% profit on her investment. Persuaded by these glittering promises, she signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and transferred the money in multiple transactions, convinced that this would be her big break.
However, Aarushi soon discovered that she had been replaced by another actress, and her investment was not returned. When she confronted the producers, they allegedly resorted to threats of defamation and derogatory remarks, even involving her father’s political background.
