Vijaya Nirmala’s true calling, however, lay in directing. She made her directorial debut with the Telugu film “Meena” in 1971, marking the beginning of an illustrious career behind the camera. Over the years, she directed an impressive 44 films, a remarkable feat that earned her a place in the Guinness World Records as the female director with the most number of films to her credit. She established her own production house, Vijaya Krishna Movies, and produced 15 films under its banner.
