The ordeal began when Bhupendra received a call from an individual posing as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer. The caller falsely accused him of being involved in a compromising situation and demanded a sum of ₹16,000 to dismiss the fabricated case. However, Bhupendra quickly identified the fraudulent scheme and decided to play along.
Pretending to comply, Bhupendra convinced the scammer that he needed financial assistance to retrieve a gold chain pawned at a local shop. He even roped in a friend to impersonate a jeweler, adding credibility to his story. Ultimately, the scammer was duped into transferring ₹10,000 into Bhupendra’s account instead of receiving any money.
Realizing he had been tricked, the fraudster pleaded for the money’s return. Bhupendra, however, reported the entire incident to the local police. In a commendable act of goodwill, he announced his plans to donate the money to someone in need, turning an unfortunate encounter into an inspiring tale of resourcefulness and empathy.
